Saudi Arabia WRA

Bankable WRA for Saudi wind projects.

Independent wind resource assessment for KSA developers, IPPs, lenders, and investors. The review covers desert measurement risk, long-term correction, IEC 61400 suitability, wake, curtailment sensitivity, and P50/P75/P90 outputs.

KSA WRA scope

Measurement campaign review

Met mast or LiDAR siting, recovery, calibration, air density, sand/dust exposure, and sensor drift are checked before MCP.

Long-term correction

ERA5 and MERRA-2 are tested for seasonal fit, residual bias, and inter-annual variability before the long-term climate is selected.

Bankability outputs

WTG-wise wind climate, gross-to-net losses, wake, uncertainty, P50/P75/P90, and IEC 61400 site suitability summary.

Risks to make visible

  • Reference uncertainty where reanalysis cannot capture local terrain or coastal flow.
  • Dust and blade soiling assumptions that change future-loss uncertainty.
  • High-temperature air-density correction and power curve treatment.
  • Grid curtailment and PPA assumptions entering the finance model as if they were availability.
