Met Mast Data Analysis

Turn raw logger files into bankable input.

Met mast data quality decides whether a wind assessment is defensible. This service cleans the record, fills gaps carefully, applies long-term reference data, and produces a data set that can be trusted by an energy yield model anywhere in the world.

What is checked

Temporal integrity

Timestamp continuity, logger reboots, daylight-saving transitions, and clock drift against UTC.

Sensor validity

Anemometer stall thresholds, vane deadband, temperature and pressure range checks, and humidity saturation excursions.

Reference correlation

ERA5, MERRA-2, NIWE, or IMD reference checks to anchor the long-term correction.

Deliverables

  • Cleaned CSV or Excel output with exclusions and gap fills marked.
  • QC memo explaining what failed, what was corrected, and what remains uncertain.
  • Long-term-corrected climatology at the heights of interest.

Typical data problems

Cyclone-related data loss

Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea landfalls can create long gaps that get silently interpolated if not checked.

Sand abrasion and sensor drift

Rajasthan and Kutch masts often show speed bias against redundant sensors after long exposure.

OEM boom shadow

Developer masts commissioned by OEMs often need sector exclusions validated against the mast drawing, not assumed.
